- After installing OpenVPN client (used to connect to a different VPN), once I connect to that VPN with OpenVPN client (while connected to a public Wifi using the Cisco AnyConnect? Application), the OpenVPN client will connect successfully, but immediately after that the Cisco AnyConnect? Client will drop the connection with the Wifi.

OpenVPN uses its own setup to establish a VPN using SSL, and while OpenVPN and WebVPN use SSL, they're not compatible with other. This doesn't mean that you can't run both - you could setup an OpenVPN server inside for firewall or on a DMZ, and the OpenVPN traffic would be just another TCP stream running over a specific port to the ASA. None of Cisco's VPN technologies are compatible with OpenVPN open source software. Don't be fooled by the 'SSL VPN' terminology. Just because both use the SSL protocol to initially authenticate and establish the encrypted session, does not mean the network tunnel protocols are also compatible.
Objective
This article explains one option to try if your RV320 and RV325 routers aren’t allowing new OpenVPN users to be added or seen.
Applicable Devices | Software Version
- RV320 and RV325 | 1.5.1.11
Introduction
If you are running software version 1.5.1.11, your RV320 or RV325 router might encounter a scenario where a reset to factory default and configuring the router does not fix the issue of adding new OpenVPN users.
There is a workaround you can do by following the instructions provided here. Before starting this process please consider backing up the configuration file from router to PC. If you want instructions on this, check out Backup and Restore the Configuration Files on RV320 and RV325 VPN Routers.
Resolving this OpenVPN Issue
Step 1
Downgrade your router to firmware version 1.3.1.12. If you want guidance downloading firmware, open the How to Download Firmware on any Device.
